Role Purpose
The
purpose of the position is to identify existing and potential operational and
financial risks within the organization and to work with the respective
business areas to put in place mechanisms and take decisions that will avoid,
mitigate, or eliminate the risks.
He will be reporting to the Senior Manager Risk M-Pesa.
Key responsibilities
•
Identify potential risks across organization’s operations and assess their
impact
• Recommend and oversee the execution of mitigation strategies
• Maintain the Enterprise Risk Register up to date
• Coordinate Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process with risk
owners
• Contribute to the incident data collection process across the organization
and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Provide assessment for new products and services.
• Prepare detailed reports on risk profile and operational risk
activities
• Conduct training sessions to promote a risk-aware culture within the
organization.
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience
•
Strong Communication/Presentation Skills – Ability to ensure relevant
communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Proven experience in risk management
• Familiarity with financial
industry compliance standards and regulations
• Familiarity with financial products and digital services
• Understanding of Brand
values and exposures
• Understanding of IT environment and impacts on the business
• Experience in financial operation controls
• Strong Analytical skills – able to assess, identify issues, root cause, and
recommend solutions.
• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably in Banking
industry
• Strong planning and networking skills.
Qualification
• Degree in Financial studies or related fields
