PATH’s IT department oversees all technology-related services for the organization globally. The department is responsible for all software application services, network infrastructure, computer support, IT vendor management, and program and project management for PATH’s IT initiatives. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the operations team is responsible of offices administration, procurement management, and logistics.
PATH seeks to recruit an Operations and IT Officer who will be responsible for providing support to end users, including staff based in Lubumbashi and field sites, in computer networks, maintenance of the computers, servers, UPS, printing equipment, networking infrastructure; office administration, logistics management and procurement tasks when needed.
The incumbent will be based in Lubumbashi and will work closely with the Lead, Regional System Administrator, the larger International IT team, the country operations team and all staff in the country. This role reports to the Lead, Regional System Administrator and will require periodic travel to field programs. The Operation Manager will be supervising the incumbent regarding operations tasks. There will be periodic travel to field programs and will work under the supervision of the Lead, Regional System Administrator.
Responsibilities:
Operations
Daily management of office supplies stock
Responsible for purchasing and managing cafeteria products
Dispatch incoming mail and invoices daily
Follow up the office cleaning service and manage office cleaning products
Responsible for organizing office events (Team Building, meetings, etc.)
Register invoices received in the Payment Tracker
Carry out periodic inventories of the office's assets and supplies
Follow up documents for each vehicle (technical inspection, insurance, driver's license), update technical data sheets, etc.
Follow up electrical, plumbing and refrigeration maintenance work and any other breakdowns at the PATH office
support the Country Office in all other administrative and operational tasks
Information & Tehnology
Respond to all staff IT related support requests and provide assistance to HQ based IT engineering staff in troubleshooting network and server issues.
Conduct periodic one-on-one and small group training sessions to ensure the successful adoption and ongoing effective use of PATH’s IT solutions including Office 365, MS Teams, One drive, BOX and SharePoint.
Conduct introductory sessions for new staff to familiarize them with IT solutions and policies.
Ensure data backups are running reliably and that data is secure.
Maintain staff PCs and printers.
Keep the supervisor fully informed daily of all IT problems and advise on what steps are being taken to resolve any problems.
Convene quarterly meetings to brief the supervisor, discuss any performance issues and provide information and feedback concerning IT operations in the project.
Use the global helpdesk ticketing system to log all support requests and document them fully.
Schedule for preventive maintenance of all IT equipment and supervise the same.
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT equipment, both on- and off-site.
Liaise with the ISP to ensure continued availability of the Internet.
Any other IT-related assignment as determined by the Lead, Regional Systems Administrator or Site Admin.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer Science or any related field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
Experience in logistics or procurement management will be a plus.
Proven experience in mobile technology.
Microsoft and/or Cisco certification are desirable.
Demonstrate progressive experience and responsibilities as an IT professional or a combined experience in operations and IT domain.
Excellent PC troubleshooting skills.
Proven expertise in IT network administration.
Ability to accurately and completely log incidents in a ticketing system.
Experience in conducting personal and small group IT training sessions and a passion for teaching people about new technologies.
Basic server and network troubleshooting skills; the ability to follow instructions when acting as remote hands for HQ engineering staff.
Understanding of wired and wireless LANs, VPNs, and the ability to diagnose network issues using commonly available tools such as traceroute, ping, and pathping.
Knowledge in Virtualization and Cloud infrastructure management.
Good communication skills.
Knowledge in stock management
Ability to travel up to 15% of allocated time.
Candidates must have legal authorization to work in DRC.
