Role Purpose

The Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role is crucial in protecting the health of Vodacom employees, the public, and the environment by implementing effective safety programs and practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible and accountable for Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives within Vodacom
- Project management (delivery, maintenance and administration)
- Responsible for communication to all stakeholders across Vodacom OPCO's regarding benefits, including employees,
line managers and executives (inductions)
- Responsible for managing and establishing sound collaborative relationships with all relevant service providers (suppliers)
- Responsible for suppliers’ management and ensure their compliance to Vodacom standards
- Responsible to facilitate and coordinate Health, Safety and Environment representatives from different business units
- Manage and provide input into budgetary requirements
- Manage subordinates within the Health, Safety and Wellness team across multicultural Countries
- Compile HSE monthly management and board reports
- Drive digital innovation to mitigate various risks
- Actively be on the field to assess various risks and advise on mitigation
actions

Experience and Qualification

- At least 3 years applicable experience within the HSE supervision/managerial role, including experience in managing multi projects and service providers.
- Exposure to multi country HSE initiatives and teams is essential
- Managerial experience with multi-cultural teams would be advantageous
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Prefer Associate Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety Management
